We desperately want to remember and connect to the people that came before us, but all we have are the vessels in which they held memories for their loved ones, and the echo chamber of our guesses. We are shouting into the void of the unknowing of how our ancestors lived and acted out their ceremonies, yearning to know what we can’t.
